On August 25, 1992, the Shiwan Xinshi Fine Ceramics Factory was established in Shengtang Village, Qicha Administrative District, Lanshi Town, Shiwan;
The company was founded to help a client resolve a ceramic parts supply issue. Xue Xirong borrowed 400,000 yuan in his personal capacity, and with an additional 380,000 yuan contributed by the Jiangxi Pangu Mountain Mining Company—for a total of 780,000 yuan—he partnered with two postgraduates from prestigious universities to co-found the company.

Due to technical shortcomings, all the products that came out of the kiln were defective, causing the company’s cash flow to dry up. It accumulated 1.57 million yuan in debt, failed to pay employees’ wages for three consecutive months, went more than two months without paying electricity bills, and even reached a point one day at noon when there wasn’t even enough money to buy groceries.
In October 1993, the company was forced to liquidate. By November 6, 1993, Mr. Xue Xirong, then one of the shareholders of Xinshi Fine Ceramics Factory, took over operations, voluntarily assumed all debts, and signed repayment agreements with all creditors. The enterprise was also restructured from a joint-stock company into a privately-owned sole proprietorship.

In January 1994, three months after Chairman Xue took over, sales exceeded 200,000 yuan, and the factory turned a profit that month—marking a historic turning point as it moved from loss to profit.
