"Shiwan ware, the finest under heaven."The Nanfeng Ancient Kiln, its fire kept burning for five hundred years, carries forward Foshan’s long and rich ceramic heritage.
Xue Xirong, founder of Kangrong High-Tech, was born into a ceramic family: in the early twentieth century his grandfather founded a ceramic workshop in Shiwan under the name Guangfulong , Foshan, and his father spent his entire career at the state-owned Foshan Chemical Ceramics Plant, where Xue Xirong himself also worked in his youth. It was this family heritage and these early experiences that forged his lifelong bond with ceramics.
Riding the wave of China’s reform and opening-up and answering the call of Deng Xiaoping’s Southern Tour speeches, Xue Xirong founded Xinshi Fine Ceramics Factory, the predecessor of Kangrong, together with partners in 1992. In 1993 the company slid into crisis, burdened with debts of more than RMB 1.53 million. Xue Xirong resolutely took over the near-bankrupt Xinshi factory on his own and, applying the Inamori working method, led his team to break out of desperation and be reborn — returning the business to profit within two years, after which Kangrong entered a period of rapid growth. His entry into the advanced ceramics industry, in turn, grew out of the inspiration he drew from Inamori’s management philosophy as set out in The Secret of Kyocera’s Rise in Japan. Rooted in the ceramic heritage of Foshan and sustained by craftsmanship forged in the depths of adversity, Xue Xirong and his wife Luo Bing have weathered every storm side by side, leading their team to take root in the field of advanced ceramics. Through tireless effort, they are committed to becoming a global leader in advanced ceramics and optoelectronic connectivity.
The name Kangrong stands for “Health Creates Prosperity”!
